The Ontario Power Authority’s FIT and microFIT (OPA, Feed In Tariff) programs present an economic opportunity for home- and small business owners who feed renewable power into the grid.

The microFIT program covers installations of 10 kW or less, and envisions a growing segment of wind power in Ontario’s energy future. The wind is a limitless supply of free energy, which, when harnessed by a wind turbine becomes a source of clean, nonpolluting electricity. OPA will pay program participants, who can either own or lease wind turbine systems, a fixed price for the electricity they feed into the grid.
